The History of XL Driving Tuition

XL Driving Tuition was set up by Robert (Rob) Mills in 1996 (at age of 30). Rob comes from a family of business owners. He was very successful in Norwich as a sole trader generating the majority of his work from recommendations. In 2002 he met Jacqueline (Jacq) and they married in 2004. It was during this period that Jacq followed her partner and qualified to become a driving instructor as well. This husband and wife team have proved incredibly successful. Both Rob & Jacq Mills lead their team as highly qualified Grade 6 DSA Approved Driving instructors.

In 2005 they looked to expand their business into a driving school. They were first approached by several driving instructors who had the desire to become self employed (under the XL name). They were looking for a more localized, personal company as opposed to one of the more national driving schools. Later that year, Rob & Jacq established their franchise business.

Today XL Driving Tuition have a strong team of 12 DSA approved driving instructors (ADI's). They are very proud of their team and feel privileged of the fact that no one has ever left XL Driving Tuition. Rob & Jacq feel that XL are capable of meeting everyone’s needs due to each individual instructor specializing in their own particular field. As such they feel they are perfectly positioned and capable of handling the enquiries they receive.

Between the whole team, XL Driving Tuition cover Norwich and a wide area of Norfolk, including most hours and all 7 days of the week. They can offer both male and female approved driving instructors, both manual and automatic cars plus a huge range of courses from hourly driving lessons through to fully intensive driving courses, Pass Plus and approved driving instructor training.

Rob and Jacq oversee everything from taking the first phone call and booking, to taking the mock test a few sessions before the actual test.
