It was designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and, with the help of registered Approved Driving Instructors (ADI's)and Insurers, it builds on your existing skills and knowledge. What is the Pass Plus Course?

Pass Plus is made up of 6 practical modules, each designed to build your experience and confidence in different driving conditions and circumstances.

All six modules are assessed during a minimum of a 6 hour session. There is no test at the end of the modules.

You need to successfully complete all 6 modules to at least the required standard during your 6 hour session.

The 6 practical modules are: -

Town driving
All weather driving
Driving out of Town
Night driving
Dual carriageway driving
Motorway driving

Module 1
Town driving

Pass Plus Module 1 - Town driving

The first module begins with an introduction to PASS PLUS, explaining the driving course aims and the skills and knowledge to be covered. The second part of the module is a practical session, covering the different features of driving in town, such as complex junctions and public transport.

Module 2
All weather driving

Pass Plus Module 2 - All weather driving

As much of this Pass Plus module as possible should be covered in a practical session. You'll focus on correct speed, safe stopping distances, together with seeing and being seen in different weather conditions.

Module 3
Driving out of Town

Pass Plus Module 3 - Driving out of town

This Pass Plus module is taken on country roads and will look at the main differences between town driving and country driving.

Module 4
Night driving

Pass Plus Module 4 - Night Driving

This Pass Plus module covers the essential aspects of driving in the dark and also at dawn and dusk.

Module 5
Driving on dual carriageways

Pass Plus Module 5 - Driving on Dual Carriageways

Dual carriageways are high speed, multi-lane roads where the two carriageways are separated by a central reservation. They demand particular skills which will be covered in this Pass Plus module.
